Moss Feed on Bluesky
Originally created using the Skyfeed.app and a small amount of basic RegEx on July 6, 2023 only shortly after it became possible to create custom feeds.
This was done on a whim after I posted a photo of moss and people I didn’t know started responding with their own moss photos.
I had no idea it was going to end up such a thing or that so many people would love it.
It’s become a calming moment of Zen for a number of people.
It’s also now much more complex to maintain because it’s just based on words. It’s both grown in popularity AND sometimes things that are off topic end up in the feed which means I’m adjusting it pretty regularly. Especially each time a large new community joins.
I also recently added the German word for Moss which is Moos made adjustments for that but sometimes cows end up in the feed now. 🙂
The moss feed brings me so much joy!

@lukelukeluke.bsky.social I love that you found my post. I hope this means I popped up in some moss feed.

I have been saving one of my photos of moss for some reason. Today feels like the right day to share it. Lovely textured soft looking vibrant green moss.

Ok it wasn't the point of posting my moss photo today BUT since it's such a lovely set of photographic responses I decided to throw together a quick moss feed: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:x3cya3wkt4n6u4ihmvpsc5if/feed/aaacynbxwimok

I set up the unofficial WordPress feed 2 days before I set up the Moss feed:
The WordPress feed was I think the first feed I created: bsky.app/profile/feed… I thought I had put that together weeks earlier but turned out it looks like only 2 days before I created the Moss feed. I think. The WP feed stays more on topic and requires less of my attention / adjustments.
